Have you ever tried butter cake mix with cream cheese and cheddar cheese inside? Hhmm…if you never tried that cake, you should make that cake and you will be surprised with the taste, really delicious. Something that I couldn’t imagine before also, and I am satisfied with the texture and the taste. This butter cheese cake was soft, moist, fluffy and delicious. You will not regret and I bet you will make more and more.

WHAT YOU NEED FOR THIS CAKE :

For the dry Ingredients :

Flour : All purpose flour what you need for this cake.

Cornstarch : It’s used primarily as a thickener and binder both in savory and sweet cooking and baking.

Baking powder : It will help this cake rise in the oven

For the wet Ingredients :

Butter : I use salted butter, if you use unsalted butter, you have to add 1/4 tsp salt when you mix the dry ingredients.

Caster sugar : If you don’t have caster sugar, you can use granulated sugar also

Cream cheese : The cheese lends the dessert a rich mouthfeel and creamy texture.

Eggs : to binder and hold ingredients together and giving the cake structure, give a rich flavor

Fresh Milk : The protein in milk softens, contributes moisture, and adds color and flavor to baked goods

Cheddar cheese cake : For inside the cake, you can use parmesan cheese instead of cheddar cheese, but for the topping you have to use cheddar cheese.

HOW TO MAKE BUTTER CHEESE CAKE :

For the dry Ingredients : In a medium bowl, mix together all purpose flour, cornstarch and baking powder with the whisk and set aside.

For the wet Ingredients : In another bowl, add butter and sugar, beat with a standing or hand mixer with low speed until well combined.

Add in the cream cheese and  beat again until creamy. Scrape down the side and mix again.

Add in the egg one in a time and beat until well combined. You repeat this until the third eggs.

Add in 2 tbsp of flour mixture and beat until well combined. Then add the last egg and beat until well combined.

Add in half of the flour mixture and beat until well combined. Then add the milk and beat again.

Add in the rest of the flour mixture and beat until there are no more flour streaks.

Add in the cheddar cheese and mix with the spatula, don’t over mix.

Pour the batter into prepared 30x11cm or 12×4 inches loaf pan or baking pan like I use on that photo, and sprinkle with cheddar cheese on the top.

If you use loaf pan, bake for 50 minutes, but for the baking pan like mine, bake for 30 minutes.

Let cool the cake on the cooling rack after you bake and let the cake completely cool. After completely cool, store the cake in the airtight container, don’t store in the fridge for this cake, because the cake will be hard.
