BUTTER SOFT BUNS

Butter Soft Buns are the best and easiest homemade buns ever. They are super soft, buttery and delicious. Perfect for any soup, salads and even for your main dish. I become addicted for these buttery and soft buns. Sometimes I only had dinner with these buns, so delicious and not so heavy dish for me.

WHAT YOU NEED FOR MAKING THE BUNS

Flour : Use all purpose flour or bread flour

Milk : Use fresh milk, room temperature

Sugar : Use granulated sugar. Sugar has a few effects in bread, it helps make it soft and tender by absorbing some of the water and slowing down the formation of gluten strands. It feeds the yeast, resulting in a faster rise. The sugar will not make your buns become sweet.

Dry yeast : use active and fresh dry yeast

Salt : Buns or breads do need salt. Your buns are going to look and taste better with some salt added. Salt plays two important functions in buns or breads. Salt slows the rising process, or fermentation of the yeast bread dough.

Butter : I use salted butter. You can use unsalted butter

Egg : Egg makes yeast breads finer and richer, help provide color, volume and also bind the ingredients together.

HOW TO MAKE BUTTER SOFT BUNS

Proof the yeast : In a medium or big bowl, add together 10 gram sugar dry yeast and milk, mix with a spoon and let it bloom until foaming for 10 minutes.

Prepare the dough : After 10 minutes, Add in butter and egg, mix with spatula

Then add in flour, 50 gram sugar and salt, mix again with spatula

Let it sit for 20 minutes without cover anything. Resting the dough will help you knead easily and less sticky.

Knead the dough : Sprinkle some flour and brush the dough with butter on the top and knead the dough with your hands about 10 minutes.

After knead the dough, sprinkle the bowl with some flour, make the dough like a ball and place the dough inside.

Cover the dough with kitchen towel and let it rise until doubled in size about 1 hour. This is the first proofing.

After 1 hour, open kitchen towel, punch the dough down really well to remove air bubbles.

Divide the dough into 16 pieces, form into a ball for every pieces and transfer all into 22×22 cm or 8,5 x 8,5 inch square pan. Cover with kitchen towel and let it rest for 30 minutes. This is the second proofing.

Bake : After 30 minutes, brush the dough with egg wash. Preheat your oven 180 degrees C or 350 degrees F and bake the dough for 20 minutes or until lightly brown.

After baking, brush the buns with butter and take out directly from the form and let it cool.
