PULL APART CHEESE BREAD

Pull apart cheese bread is cheesy, soft, fluffy and add spring onions make the bread more tasty. Cheddar cheese bread totally satisfies all my baking cravings.

This homemade Cheese Bread is very easy to make and you will never fail to make this bread. You don’t have to be a baker to make this bread.

WHAT YOU NEED FOR MAKING THIS BREAD :

Flour : Use all purpose flour for this bread

Milk : Use fresh milk, room temperature

Dry yeast : Use Instant dry yeast

Sugar : You can use granulated sugar or Caster sugar

Salt : Bread does need salt. Your bread is going to look better with some salt added.

Egg : Eggs make yeast breads finer and richer, help provide color, volume and also bind the ingredients together.

Butter : Use unsalted butter, have to be melted butter

Spring Onion : Use 1 spring onion, cut into small pieces

Cheese : Use cheddar cheese

HOW TO MAKE THIS BREAD :

Prepare the dough : In medium or large bowl, mix all ingredients together except the cheddar cheese. Mix fast with spatula until well combined. The dough should be very soft and sticky. Cover the dough with kitchen towel and let it rest for 90 minutes.

After 90 minutes, sprinkle silicone mat with some flour to handle the sticky dough. Place the dough on silicone mat and make into a ball, cut into 12 pieces.

Roll and flatten the small dough into an oval. Fill with cheddar cheese and fold the dough from the sort sides to the middle and pinch to seal the open space. Repeat for all the small dough.

Brush the dough on one side with melted butter and transfer into the prepared 25x12x7 cm loaf pan, then brush another side also with melted butter. Repeat for all the dough.

After all the dough inside the loaf pan, brush the dough on the top with melted butter. Cover the loaf pan with kitchen towel and let it rise for 30 minutes.

After 30 minutes, open the kitchen towel and sprinkle the dough with cheddar cheese on the top. (See the note below)

Bake : Preheat oven 180 degrees C or 350 degrees F and bake for 30-40 minutes (depend on your oven)

Ingredients
  

  • 250 grams (2 cups) All purpose flour
  • 3 gram (1 tsp) Instant dry yeast
  • 4 gram (1 tsp) Sugar
  • 125 ml (1/2 cup) Fresh milk room temperature
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1 Spring onion cut into small pieces
  • 42 gram (3 tbsp) Butter Melted
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • Cheddar cheese grated
  • 28 gram (2 tbsp) Butter Melted (for brushing)

  • After all the dough inside the loaf pan, brush the dough on the top with melted butter. Cover the loaf pan with kitchen towel and let it rise for 30 minutes.
  • After 30 minutes, open the kitchen towel and sprinkle the dough with cheddar cheese on the top. (See the note below)
  • Bake : Preheat oven 180 degrees C or 350 degrees F and bake for 30-40 minutes (depend on your oven)
  • After baking, take out the bread from the form and let it cool on the cooling rack.
  • After completely cool, enjoy the bread!!

Notes

Note : Before you sprinkle the dough with cheddar cheese, you can brush the dough with egg first if you want, this is optional. I didn't do that. It will not change the taste from the bread at all if you don't want to brush with the egg. The different is only the color on the top, if you brush with the egg, the bread will be more golden brown on the top.
